My diagnosis recently changed from AZOOR to something unspecified on the white dot syndrome spectrum.

White dot syndrome covers a range of conditions that affect visual field loss and blurred vision. Although AZOOR falls under this spectrum, the opthalmology team aren’t sure exactly what my condition is.

White dot syndromes can affect people who are otherwise healthy, usually women (although I have a problem with this, as it’s normally just that women are more likely to attend medical appointments and push for a diagnosis than men, for a variety of reasons), usually young adults, and patients normally report blurred vision, loss of field (blind spots), decreased night vision and floaters.

Although my diagnosis has changed, it hasn’t changed significantly enough that there is any treatment available or that this will affect the prognosis of my condition, but I felt it important to update this website with accurate information, incase anyone who is reading this has unfortunately experienced the same eye disease, or diagnosis, or is struggling to find answers.
